Top 5 Under £5 - Skincare

I decided after doing my under £5 makeup post that I was going to make this into a bit of a series, and next up is skincare. This was a bit of a tricky post to put together, as I like to invest more in my skincare, so the majority of products I use on a regular basis have a higher price tag, but I've managed to find five products I have tried and loved, and a couple of them are still regulars in my evening skincare routine.

1. Superdrug Vitamin E Moisture Mask £2.59 Superdrug face masks are great value for money, and do just as good a job as some other more expensive brands. This mask is a great alternative to the Origins Drink Up masks, if you suffer from dry skin. It says to leave this on for 10-15 minutes, but I have left this on overnight in the past and achieved almost as good results are when I use the Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask. Superdrug have a range of masks for all skin types, if dry skin isn't your concern.

2. The Body Shop Aloe Calming Toner £3.00 for 60ml The product I've pictured above is the larger bottle, which is £8, but you can get a smaller bottle for just £3, so really I'm not cheating! Plus, The Body Shop have so many offers on all the time, so you could probably get the larger bottle for £5 or less too! This toner has become a regular in my skincare routine, and I tend to use it 4 or 5 evenings a week, when I want a more soothing toner. A have a real problem with toners and find that I lot of them sting quite badly when I apply them, even some for sensitive skin, but this Body Shop toner removes all traces of product from my skin without leaving it red & sore afterwards.

3. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water £4.99 I've done a full review of this product, which you can read here. I absolutely love this cleansing water. It does a great job of removing makeup, even waterproof, and leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed. I use this every day as the first step in my evening skincare routine.

4. St Ives Gentle Apricot Facial Scrub £4.29 I use this scrub every now and again when I want to give my face a really deep clean. A lot of scrubs can be very harsh on my skin, so I tend to steer away from them, but this St Ives scrub is much more gentle on my sensitive skin. It gets the job done without feeling like you're scratching your face off! Plus, the apricot smell is gorgeous!

5. Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes £3.25 When I'm feeling lazy, particularly when I'm away from home for the evening, I love using a good old face wipe to remove my makeup, then moisturise and go! These Simple face wipes are my favourites to use, budget or not, as they remove all traces of makeup effortlessly and leave my skin feeling lovely and soothed. I love a lot of products from the Simple skincare range, and I'd also recommend their Hydrating Light Moisturiser (also under £5!).

Do you have any of these products? What are your favourite budget skincare items?

  1. I love the sound of the Ives scrub, sounds like it'll have an amazing fruity smell!

  2. I've used the St Ives scrub for years but haven't used it recently, I think I'll have to start using it again! I really want to try the Garnier Micellar water too! x

  3. I love simple skincare, most products have worked for me and I think it's the best cheap ones out there. I need to try these wipes though. Great post.
